We Don't Need It Yet

If It Ain't Broke...

Upon inspection of their server (in-house) I noticed several things were showing and to some extent screaming "you better change things fast!" From blue-screen startups to failed backups on an unsupported, and outdated platform - it was certain that their network and hosted web application was living on borrowed time.

In today's discounted plug and play, Geek Squad world - it still amazes me that so many businesses wait until a disaster strikes before implementing any type of plan. From our government to startup businesses, it seems that proactive thinking is far too much of a concept to ascertain.

Perhaps it's because they gamble that they can save money if they hold out a bit longer, or they feel it wont be that bad or perhaps it's negligence born out of a fear of something else on their plate or even living in denial - most often times than not businesses wait until it breaks to fix it.

Of course why complain... from a business point of view I make at least twice the amount of revenue from these projects and there's no long sale on emergencies! But it does make the process more difficult and actually less worth it in the end due to mistakes caused by those businesses as they minimize development and test time, or make emergency purchase decisions with no planning due to panic.

In hindsight it's always clear that if plans were made before the crash, an untold amount of downtime, energy, money and aggravation would have been saved. And instead of loosing business it would have gained them business because that new shiny upgraded system would have been tested, and put in place and the old clunker taken out of service voluntarily.

We offer an audit system for your website as a whole or in addition to your internal network structure if needed. For FREE you can get all the advice you need to not only keep your system running at it's optimum but also help you achieve a return on investment for your data management, website and internet marketing efforts. But it's funny, even free - you still hear "we don't need it yet."
